The Eid-ul Adha is around the corner which is also considered as “Bari Eid” since Muslims sacrifice the animal and perform hajj during this festival. Muslims slaughter goats, sheep, cows, and camels, following the example of Prophet Ibrahim who sacrificed his son in a show of obedience to Allah. However, this Eid is just not for girls. After setting the stove for kaleji to cook, her kaleja is crying as she was planning to get ready but then her brother comes out of nowhere handling her bowl full of kaleji that Ammi has orders her to cook.
Now, again she is about to dress up when “sath wali aunty ka beta” rings the doorbell and she receives the ‘’gosht ka hissa” with a forced smile on her face. She furiously struck the polythene bag on the kitchen counter, and here comes the Ammi again ‘’put it properly in the freezer, kaamchor’’.

Yet she is about to put a base on her face, Ammi shouts ‘’kaleji jal rahi hai”. Boom! She runs to the kitchen, hurriedly turns off the stove, and runs back to the room, escaping Ammi ka lecture on her “phooharpan”
She is praising herself for how beautifully she has put the eyeshade on; brother walks in and he comes and says “Ammi pooch rahi hain, woh jo neeli theli mein ghosht rakha hai, who kahan se aaya hai”…. There goes all her preparation.
Last but not least when comes out of her room all dressed up, the red large pile of meat is waiting for her and Ammi’s discussion with Abbu on what and whom to distribute.
And the day ends with her rubbing her hands thrice to get rid of meat stench, hoping not to receive another task from ammi, but work is never-ending cycle……
