Champions are not born overnight. They are made. Saina Nehwal, daughter of Usha and Harvir Singh Nehwal, a Haryanvi couple from Hyderabad created history in 2015 when she became the first Indian woman and only the second Indian after Prakash Padukone to attain the world No.1 ranking in Badminton.
People easily notice victories but the struggle behind those victories remains unnoticed. Saina Nehwal’s biopic also shares a sentimental story of the struggles Saina faced during the timeline. But saying that Parineeti Chopra did the justice character won’t be wrong. The actor plays down her naturally vivacious personality and sparkling eyes for the not-so-showy character she plays here. Most impressively, she gets the body language of a sportsperson right and actually looks the part on the court. The film also pays tribute to the people who immensely contribute to her resilience and unbreakable spirit.
People praised Saina and love the film and Parineeti’s performance, calling it a ‘must-watch the film.

All in all, the movie pays warm tribute to the player who put Indian badminton on the world map. While there were many who praised Parineeti for her efforts, some also expressed their disappointment. However, one thing that remains constant is Indian fans loving and demanding more biopic that brings out the sport spirit and shares the unseen struggle of National heroes.
